Department of Fuels and Catalytic Processes (TP)
Scope of activity:

-
research and development, and
industrial implementation of processing technologies of LPG, motor gasoline,
aviation fuels, first and second generation biofuels and diesel fuels,
supervision over developed and implemented processing technologies;
-
evaluation and certification of fuel
components, including first and second generation biocomponets, and components
from alternative sources;
-
development of processing methods
for improving the quality of motor fuels and biofuels, diesel fuels, and
solvents by introduction of suitably selected additives;
-
testing and preparation of expert
evaluation of the quality of motor fuels and biofuels, diesel fuels, solvents
and their components and assessment of their conformity with specifications;
-
evaluation of microbial
contamination of liquid fuels in their production and distribution systems;
-
testing of low temperature
properties of diesel fuels and heating oils;
-
testing of stability of residual
fuel oils and compatibility of their components;
-
research and development, and
implementation of new catalytic hydroprocesses; testing and evaluation of the
catalysts used in refinery for zeoforming, hydrodesulphurization,
hydrotreating, and catalytic dewaxing processes;
-
evaluation of the environmental
impacts of fuels, biofuels, and other refinery and petrochemical industry
products based on the Life Cycle Assessment method.
