DIVISION OF PROSPECTING OF HYDROCARBON DEPOSITS

Department of Microbiology (SM)

Scope of activity:

• studies of microbiological processes in the reservoir environment of underground gas storage (UGS);

• preventing activities – the use of biocidal agents, H2S scavengers, and inhibitors for the control of SRB and prevention of the biogenic formation of H2S;

• bioremediation of petroleum related compounds in the contaminated land;

• biodegradation of polymers contained in the drilling mud;

• microbial technologies for stimulating the hydrocarbon deposits exploitation;

• microbial prospecting methods: a surface method and the microbial well survey technique;

• testing of antibacterial preparations (biocides);

• bacteriological testing of drinking water.
