DIVISION OF PROSPECTING OF HYDROCARBON DEPOSITS

Department of Petroleum Engineering (SI)

Scope of activity:

  • analysis of the causes and assessment of damage degree of reservoir rocks in the near-wellbore zone;

  • determination of the liquid phase infiltration depth into reservoir rocks;

  • viscosity measurements of the drilling fluid filtrate and reservoir liquids in the temperature range from room temperatures to 120° C;

  • studies and selection of working fluids and brines in the work related to the well sampling and reconstruction;

  • monitoring, forecasting and detecting of zones of anomaly high porous and reservoir pressures in profiles of drilled and the designed wellbores;

  • wellbore wall stability evaluation;

  • determination of the production capacity of wells;

  • simulation of cavern underground gas storage operation in salt diapirs taking into account the convergence of chambers;

  • application of microbial technology for well stimulation and paraffin removal in wellbores and surface installations;

  • drill cores documentation with photographs and through the Internet;

  • determination of mechanical and seismoacoustic properties of rocks in crumb tests;

  • analysis of natural gas migration and exhalation phenomena and occurrence of pressure in interpipe spaces;

  • object-based reservoir modelling as a part of reservoir engineering;

  • development of specialized software for reservoir engineering and operation of salt cavern underground gas storage.
