Department of Drilling Technology (KW)
Scope of activity:

-
development of compositions and methods of preparation of
drilling fluids, well completion, sampling and workover fluids, cement
slurries and sealing mixtures for well cementing in different
geological-technical drilling conditions;
-
specialized laboratory testing: the reduction in coefficient
of friction and surface tension on the phase boundaries, sedimentation of
charged material, transport of cuttings to the surface in inclined and
horizontal wells, washing out clay deposits from rocks before cementing
operation, resistance to gas migration during the setting a cement slurry,
corrosion resistance of stone cement, and determination of chemical compounds
in drilling fluid;
-
comprehensive examination and evaluation of new chemicals,
mud and sealing materials, selected for preparation and regulation the
properties of drilling mud and cement slurries;
-
measurements of the parameters of drilling fluids and cement
stone at normal and high temperature and pressure conditions with the use of
the set of common and specialized test apparatus assembly;
-
study on effects of drilling fluids on re-drilling of rock;
-
selection of drilling mud, cement slurries, buffered
solutions in order to improve effectiveness of well cementing;
-
testing services for current cementing operation;
-
examination of physical-chemical properties of rocks with
special attention to their drillability.
